This is possibly my favourite 4321 video attempt to date! 4 x 3 ingredient recipes (or items) made into a recipe, only excluding basic things like water. This time we make a baked naked fish and chips recipe, a coconut lemonade, an amazingly naughty chicken noodle soup and an apple & custard cinnamon bun bake. All of them were truly outstanding! Remember the aim is to show you the basics, to give you inspiration to literally play with your food and add an ingredient or two. Good luck!

3 ingredient chicken noodle soup

Grab a saucepan, place in the chicken breasts, add cold water to cover them fully, add in the stock cube and the sachet that comes with the noodles. Bring to a simmer with the lid on, once the simmer is reached, lower the heat and stir the pan to make sure the stock cube is fully diluted. Keep the lid on and simmer for 15 further minutes. Remove the chicken onto a board and shred with 2 forks to resemble pulled pork, return to the pan with the dried noodles and simmer for 5 more minutes. Serve hot, so good! Adjust the strength of the stock if you wish by adding more water to dilute it, try plonking an egg in there too for a ramen twist!

3 ingredient fish and chips

Line a baking dish with baking parchment and coat the chips in oil and season with salt and pepper. Bake in a pre-heated oven at 160fan/180c or equivalent for 25 minutes, turning during cooking once. Add in the fish fillets and bake for a further 15 minutes, rotating the chips again if needed. Add in the peas in one section of the dish for an extra 5 minutes of baking at the end, straight from the freezer. Easy peasy. Seasoning and adding oil to the chips (I did not do that in the video due to the limitations I sometimes make) will really help, also rub seasoning into the fish! This is a actually a super healthy version of fish and chips!

3 ingredient apple and custard cinnamon bun bake

Grab a baking dish and add the apple sauce mix to the dish all over to fully cover it. Rip up the cinnamon bun log (they normally come in a tube) and place them all over the apple mix, fill the gaps but don’t stick the bun torn off pieces on top of eachother. Dot some custard in the gaps between the cinnamon bun pieces and bake in an oven at 160fan/180c or equivalent for 25 minutes, covering if it starts to catch to quickly with foil, this will stop it burning but unlikely to happen. When it comes out the oven if your cinnamon bun mix came with icing sugar, make this up whilst it’s cooling and drizzle on top just before serving. Amazing still warmed, but also nice cold!

3 ingredient coconut lemonade

Place the lemonade, ice cream and coconut cream into a blender and whizz up. Serve in a glass with ice, tweak to your liking – more lemonade = more fizz, more ice cream more smooth, more coconut, more coconut flavour!
