In this video recipe i’m showing you how to make a meatball goulash recipe using frozen ingredients. This recipe is simple, tasty, delicious and something the whole family will enjoy!
First step is to cook up your meatballs I used frozen meatballs from Sainsburys but there is nothing stopping you cooking your own from fresh making them straight away or putting them in a freezer at a later date to make this recipe.
Whack them in an oven proof dish and bake for around 20 minutes to Gas 6 or equivalent.
Over a medium flame add a tablespoon of olive oil then follow up by adding in the frozen onions soften them up for around about 5 minutes until translucent and smelling all good initially then we will add some more flavour, I added in some frozen chopped garlic and some paprika stirring that through will really add some decent flavour in there.
I am using pots today that you can cook straight from frozen the parsley, onions and garlic, they were so good because you can snap them off and plonk down once you are done no wastage, whack them back in the freezer for another day so means no smelly fingers or crying. You’ll see me rave about them in the video.
Next add in the tin of chopped tomatoes and 300ml water once that is all in there start to stir it together those initial flavour coming together, then crumble in a stock cube, get that up to a simmer.
While that is cooking away it is time to cook up your spaghetti to package instructions, I used some high fibre spaghetti, put that straight into a separate pan, so you should have the spaghetti cooking away the goulash simmering away like a cauldron and of course the meatballs too.
So once the meatballs are ready add them into the pan with the thickened goulash sauce, get them nice and coated in the sauce.
Then I added a bag of frozen ready chopped peppers, you will see a theme here cooking from frozen but it is all good, so the peppers go in then the good old parsley, just give it a cheeky sprinkle and whack that back in the freezer if you are using the frozen tubs like me, get it all stirred let it simmer all those flavours mingle together for a good 5 minutes before serving the meatballs down on top of the spaghetti, little extra sauce from the pan if you like and a sprinkling of oregano.
Trust me guys this is a stonker, you will absolutely love it!
