We get a lot of requests for super easy meals, ideally of the one pot variety – i’m not sure why this is, I think there’s a simplicity with a one pot dish? Maybe it’s the lack of washing up that’s needed, in all honesty though other recipes are just as easy prep wise as a one pot, BUT, this is a real delicious dinner recipe for you to try and put your own spin on. Effectively a cheeseburger style pasta bake which you could add much more to – mushrooms, extra bacon, chillis etc you’ll love it, it’s freezable and will feed a family comfortably for a super cheap price!
Simply grab yourself a baking dish and pour in the water, tomato sauce, mustard powder, worcester sauce, garlice powder and season well with salt and pepper. Mix through to dissolve this through into the mixture and stir until all smooth. Add in the pasta and the onion, then add in the beef mince… if you wish you could break the beef mince down with your hand rather than breaking it down in the dish, place it in there and give it all a good stir carefully together. Cover with tin foil and bake for 30 minutes covered in the foil at an oven pre-heated to 425f or equivalent (see oven conversion charts).
Carefully remove from the oven, layer on the chopped bacon, cheese to completely cover the surface and return to the oven and bake to melt through the cheese for approx 8-10 minutes. Once melted remove from the oven, season and sprinkle on some parsley if you wish – delicious!
For added flavour season the beef mince directly in a bowl before adding it to the mix. This in general makes a fairly mild tasting pasta bake, but of course you can add more mustard powder / worcester sauce to increase this to your liking!
