I’m going to keep this short and sweet, if you want to learn how to make homemade dry ice check this out. I’d never done it before and wondered if the DIY stuff in a fire extinguisher was still ‘edible’ vs stuff ordered online, well, it is! So save yourself some hassle of ordering online and get hold of a (generally cheaper) CO2 fire extinguisher, because other than that and a pillow case, that is all you need and you get a fair amount too!

How to make dry ice at home

  1. Prepare your CO2 fire extinguisher, it should have a large funnel on the end.
  2. Tape a clean pillow case around the entire funnel and nozzle securely.
  3. Head outside and wear protective gloves, remove pin from fire extinguisher and spray it into the pillow case.
  4. The gas will escape through the pillow case holding the dry ice in place!

That is it. Cool huh?!
