French Toast

by Barry Lewis

Ingredients

thickly sliced bread

2 large eggs

100ml milk

1/2 tsp vanilla extract

1 heaped tsp cinnamon

toppings of your choice

I had a request come through for french toast, and I thought I had done it before in the past, but those were french toast rollups, which are also awesome by the way!

Here we make a classic French toast recipe with minimal ingredients.

First step is getting some decent bread & slicing it into thick slices roughly an inch thick, this will absorb more mixture and they will not fall apart.
Beat together the eggs and milks in a shallow bowl wide enough to fit a slice of bread in, add vanilla extract and cinnamon then whisk well to fully merge together. Next up get your frying pan over a low flame and add a drop of olive oil and a little butter and warm through to melt. Once it is melted dunk your bread in the egg mixture and turn over on the other side to coat then cook away in the pan either side until golden brown. Rest on kitchen towel once done, the ingredients below are enough for 2 / 3 slices of bread.

Top with fresh fruit, maple syrup or anything you like really! Enjoy this super easy french toast recipe.
