Let’s test some more TikTok recipes that are popular and appear to be delicious, including a cucumber salad in a jar, the chickle and marry me chicken! Hope one of these grab your attention to try for yourself!
Breakfast cereal latte
Make cereal as per normal, but let the cereal sit in the milk (at least 100ml) for 10 minutes to infuse. Pour the cereal out via a sieve. Pour the milk into a glass with ice and cold coffee poured over! You can blend this up but as I showed in the video, it’s not that great an idea!
Chickle
Simply melt a slice of cheese in a pan, melt it until it starts to lightly brown, add the pickle (dry it with kitchen towel) then turn off the heat, but still in the frying pan, lift the cheese onto the pickle and roll it around to fully coat it. Allow to cool, serve with mixed herbs too if you wish.
Tanghulu (Chinese Candied Fruit)
Make sure the fruit is dried fully before making, thread your fruit onto some bamboo skewers, leave to one side, have a large bowl of cold water ready.
In a large saucepan add the sugar and water, bring to a simmer, then continue gently heating until it reaches 300F, also known as the hard crack stage on a candy thermometer – use one of these if you have one. Carefully lower one at a time the skewers into the sugar, with the heat now turned off, then dunk immediately into the cold water to set it on there and repeat.
Cucumber salad in a jar
Simply add all the ingredients to the jar, shake away and eat! Keep chilled longer for a few hours or overnight for it to taste more softened. If you have it soon after making it, it’ll be crisper in texture but still good!
Marry me chicken
Preheat oven to 375F/190C/170Fan or equivalent. First up use a large frying pan or skillet that can be used in an oven. Heat a little oil, say a tbsp in the pan and add in the chicken, salt & pepper, cook both sides until golden brown all over, remove temporarily onto a plate to rest.
Add some more oil to your pan, add in the thyme, flakes and garlic, cooking over a medium heat stirring often for 2 minutes, then add in the cream, tomatoes, stock and parmesan. Stir well and bring up to a simmer, place the chicken back in.
Bake the whole thing in the pre-heated oven for 10 minutes or until the juices run clear, then remove and serve on plates with more parmesan and basil on top, amazing!
