Pancakes – Cheap vs Steep

200g self-raising flour

1 ½ tsp baking powder

1 tbsp golden caster sugar

3 large eggs

25g melted butter, plus extra for cooking

200ml milk

Vegetable oil and extra butter for frying


To serve

Maple syrup



(or whatever you like!)

Fluffy American style pancakes are one of our favourites at home, but if you take opposite ends of the budget when shopping to make the same recipe, does it really make a difference? Let’s find out! The budget was over 3.5 more to shop at a luxury supermarket, but did it achieve the same results? Ideally we always want cheap to win but sometimes the differences can be eggstraordinary!
