Viral Hacks ft The Cheese Iron

by Barry Lewis

Hey folks, Barry here! Today, we’re diving headfirst once again into the wonderful (and sometimes wacky) world of viral kitchen hacks. You know the ones—they pop up all over social media promising to make life easier, tastier, or just a bit more fun in the kitchen. Well, my wife and I decided to put some of these to the test, and let me tell you, the results were… interesting! Mrs B picked all of them this time so it was all new to me!

Hack 1: Biscoff Cookie Christmas Trees

First up, we tried turning Biscoff cookies into adorable little Christmas trees. Sounds simple, right? Stack the cookies with melted chocolate in a tree shape, add a bit of decoration, and boom—a festive masterpiece! Let’s just say ours had a bit of rustic shapes. But hey, they looked cute (kind of) and were absolutely delicious. If you’ve got a steady hand, this one’s worth a try!

Hack 2: Bulldog Clip Thermometer Holder

Ever tried holding a cooking thermometer over a pot and wished you had three hands? The hack suggests using a trusty bulldog clip to hold it in place. Surprisingly, this one worked a treat! Practical, simple, and no extra gadgets needed. We’re giving this hack a thumbs up.

Hack 3: A New Use for a Grater

Now, this one was intriguing—a supposed genius way to use a grater that we’d never thought of. Without giving too much away, let’s just say it’s a bit niche and also extremely simple! Watch the video to see if it’s worth your time!

Hack 4: Porridge Tortillas

Tortillas… made from porridge?! This hack was a curveball. We mixed up some oats, made a sort of oat batter and fried them up. The results? Hmm, let’s just say it’s not going to replace your regular tortilla wraps anytime soon, but if you’re in a pinch, it’s worth a shot.

Hack 5: Melting Cheese with an Iron

This hack had us both scratching our heads—melting cheese with an iron to make a dip. It sounds bonkers, right? But it actually kind of worked! Would I do it again? Probably not, but it’s definitely a conversation starter for your next party if you start getting the iron out!

Hack 6: Peanut Butter Jar Cookies

Last but definitely not least, we tried making cookies straight out of a peanut butter jar. Here’s the trick: you add an egg and some chocolate chips right into the jar, mix it all up, then slice the resulting dough into discs to bake. No bowls, no mess—just one jar. The verdict? These were an absolute winner theory wise, but they were a touch gritty! We think it’s all down to the peanut butter you use and maybe perhaps a little chocolate coating would help improve them!

Final Thoughts

Some of these hacks were surprisingly brilliant, others were more… let’s say, experimental. Either way, we had loads of fun testing them out, and we hope you’ll enjoy watching the video as much as we enjoyed making it.

If you’ve got any kitchen hacks you’d like us to try, drop us a comment or tag us on social media. Who knows, your suggestion might make it into our next video! Here’s previous kitchen hack testing videos too if you want to see what else we’ve tested so far!

Until next time, keep experimenting and have a cracking day. Cheers!
