Have you ever wondered if the Ninja Woodfire lives up to its reputation as a versatile outdoor grill and smoker? I recently put it to the test, and let me tell you—it was a flavourful experience! From juicy ribs to a smoked chocolate cupcake, I explored the Woodfire’s capabilities to see if it’s the ultimate tool for garden cooking. Spoiler alert: It didn’t disappoint.
What did we test?
To push the Ninja Woodfire to its limits, I cooked:
- Ribs: Perfectly smoked and tender, with that delicious fall-off-the-bone texture in just over an hour!
- Burgers: Juicy patties with toasted buns that had just the right amount of crunch, super smoked!
- Smoked Potato Wedges: Crispy on the outside, soft on the inside, with a smoky twist dunked in a sour cream dip!
- Chocolate Smoked Cupcake: Yes, dessert on a smoker! The smoky chocolate flavour was surprisingly delightful and quite intense!
Performance Highlights:
The Ninja Woodfire made it easy to switch between grilling, smoking, dehydrating, roasting and even baking. It maintained consistent temperatures, delivered authentic woodfire flavours, and added a new dimension to classic recipes. I think I would perhaps liked a cold smoker setting, but it’s not really intended for that purpose.
Verdict:
If you’re looking for a compact, easy-to-use outdoor grill and smoker that can handle everything from savoury to sweet, the Ninja Woodfire might just become your new favourite cooking gadget. I don’t know if it’s perfect if you are really into smoking and want a bit more control rather than automatic functions, but it really was a great way of driving flavour into the food with very little effort! It’s only when you speak to someone that hasn’t been around the smoker afterwards that you realise just how much smoke it produces!
