Ninja Slushi Review – Is This £350 Frozen Drink Maker Worth It?
If you’ve ever fancied making slushies at home like the ones you get at theme parks (minus the sugar rush from a paper cup the size of your head), then the Ninja Slushi might have caught your eye. It’s slick, smart, and full of features — but at £350, it’s also a serious bit of kit.
So, I put it through its paces to see if it’s actually worth the money. Here’s my honest Ninja Slushi review – no fluff, just what worked, what didn’t, and whether it’s the kind of gadget that deserves a spot in your kitchen.
What is the Ninja Slushi?
The Ninja Slushi is part of Ninja’s ever-growing lineup of fancy kitchen gadgets, promising to turn your everyday drinks into frozen treats. From iced coffees and frappes to straight-up slushies, it claims to do it all with customisable thickness levels and easy-to-use controls.
Sounds cool – but does it deliver?
First Impressions & Setup
It’s a solid, premium-feeling machine. Setup was quick, and the controls are surprisingly intuitive for something that looks like it belongs in a café. No need to freeze the container beforehand, load up your drink of choice, and let the machine do the rest. Cleaning? Genuinely easy – a nice surprise for something with moving parts and blades.
I tested all the functions it offers, including the slush, frappe, and frozen drink modes, literally just pouring in a can of Fanta!
What Worked Well
- Cola and Fanta both worked, though Fanta came out a bit too slushy at first — but you can tweak the thickness over time, which is part of the fun.
- Frappes were impressive. Although reviews said others were struggling.
- The custom control over texture is brilliant. Once you’ve used it a few times, you’ll get the hang of how to tweak things exactly to your taste, I really think it’s a gadget the more you use, the better it gets.
Despite some one-star reviews on the Ninja website, I found it to be surprisingly capable. I suspect those users didn’t explore all the modes or adjust settings — this machine rewards a bit of patience and experimenting. There was one about mould but I truly think that is hard to accomplish!
What’s Not So Great?
- The price – £350 is a lot. For most people, this is definitely a luxury purchase. If you’re only looking to make the occasional slushie, it’s probably not worth it.
- Overkill for casual use – You might not end up using all the functions unless you’re really into frozen drinks.
That said, in the right home — maybe with kids, or for people who love entertaining in the summer — this could be a really fun, long-term addition.
Verdict – Should You Buy the Ninja Slushi?
In short: yes – but only if you’ll use it properly.
If you want a quick slushie every now and then, this is probably more than you need. But if you’re the kind of person who loves testing textures, making frappes at home, or impressing guests with custom frozen cocktails, it’s actually a pretty amazing machine. Easy to clean, very adjustable, and surprisingly fun.

Final Thoughts
For me, the Ninja Slushi did the job well, and more. Once you get to grips with how it works, it becomes second nature — and the control over thickness is a really nice touch. It’s not cheap, and it won’t be for everyone, but in the right setting, it’s a brilliant bit of kit.
Let me know what you’d try making in it — I’ve already had a few bonkers suggestions!
