When Five Gadgets Land at Once
Today’s post is exactly what it says on the tin: a collection of kitchen gadgets tested to see which ones genuinely help and which ones simply threaten your fingertips. Five gadgets arrived at once, and what followed was equal parts chaos, curiosity, and questionable decision-making. If you enjoy a proper kitchen gadgets tested rundown, this one delivers.
The Apple Gadget: Pure Barbarism
This was the moment I realised some inventions probably shouldn’t exist. The apple tool looked like equipment from a medieval dentist. Even with an anti-cut glove, I didn’t feel remotely safe using it. It tore through the fruit with reckless abandon, and I spent most of the time expecting it to lunge back at me.

A Kitchen Gadgets Tested Favourite: The Bubblegum Frame
Thankfully, something fun appeared. The bubblegum frame was oddly brilliant. It holds a frankly ridiculous amount of bubblegum and somehow makes it look decorative. I nearly risked filling it with M&Ms or salt and pepper for science, but didn’t want to ruin it. Unique, daft, and surprisingly likeable.

The Onion Blossom Maker: Big Onion, Big Problems
Technically, it worked. It did make my first blooming onion, which was momentarily satisfying, but I made the rookie error of choosing an onion large enough to qualify as a family pet. It barely fit, a piece of plastic clipped my thumb, and slicing an orange with it later resulted in citrus directly in the cut. Still, the gadget made me want to bloom more things, so that’s something.

The Bacon Fat Bin: The Sensible One
Finally, a calm moment. The silicone bacon fat bin was easy to use, tidy, and perfect for saving fat for future cooking experiments. My bacon candle idea didn’t work, but that’s hardly the gadget’s fault. Genuinely handy and the most sensible tool of the day.

The 3D-Printed Can Opener: Clever, but Costly
A clever idea, but the size and price make it a bit much. It works, absolutely, but cheaper and smaller alternatives exist that take up less drawer space.
