Kitchen Gadget Testing: Garlic Master, Peanut Butter Scooper & More
Back again with another kitchen gadget testing session — this time with a proper mix of useful, unusual, and slightly baffling tools. From slicing boiled eggs to scraping out the last bit of peanut butter, some of these gadgets really surprised me (and others… well, you’ll see).
This is part of my long-running series where I try out kitchen gadgets from Amazon and beyond. If you’re into this sort of thing, there’s a full playlist of gadget videos over on YouTube you can check out here.
What Was On Test This Time?
This batch of gadgets had some absolute curveballs. Here’s a look at what I tried:
Garlic Master
A dedicated garlic chopping tool that claims to mince garlic quickly and cleanly. I’ve tested plenty of garlic tools over the years — this one did surprisingly well. Not perfect, but better than expected.

Peanut Butter Jar Scooper
Yes, it’s a thing — and yes, I kind of love it. If you’re constantly fighting to scrape out the last of the peanut butter (or any spread), this scooper might actually be useful.

Egg Cutter Tool
A compact little gadget meant to slice boiled eggs cleanly. Neat idea, if you eat a lot of eggs and don’t want to risk them rolling all over the place.

Flavour Planks
Wooden planks designed to steam and infuse flavour into food as it cooks — typically used on barbecues, but I gave them a go indoors. Mild smoky flavour, interesting concept.

Bag Clip with Pour Spout
Turns an open bag into a pouring container. Actually quite handy for cereal, rice, popcorn — anything small and loose.

Joseph Joseph Multi-prep Compact
A tidy little set of slicing and prepping tools from a reliable brand — great for small kitchens or those who want a no-fuss tool drawer upgrade.
