200g Self Raising Flour
12 Oreos
1 500ml tub of Haagen Dazs

When I got sent this recipe through my website I just had to give it a go to both prove to myself it works and of course most importantly share it with you guys. The basic concept is making an ice cream bread combining ice cream (of which you could use any variety) with flour. So to make a oreo ice cream bread recipe we chuck in some bashed oreos for added cookie texture. You’d be surprised how savoury the final taste is, maybe toast it, have butter on it, serve with nutella or even another scoop of ice cream. Mix up the fillings – maybe fruit or nuts etc have fun and let me know how you get on! Remember I am self taught so if I can make it you can, everyone has to start somewhere 🙂

So here’s how to make cookies and cream ice cream bread – you only need 3 ingredients!

Pre-heat your oven to 170c or equivalent (see temperature oven conversion chart).

Take the oreo cookies, place them into a sealed bag and bash well with a rolling pin until fine crumbs are achieved.
Grab one large mixing bowl and combine together the flour, ice cream and cookie bits, mix well until it turns into a dough like texture.

Pass this mixture into a loaf tin, do not grease it, just line the base of the tin with some baking parchment to make it easier later to remove. Get the ice cream dough (that’s what we will call it) in the tin and smooth the top to level off.

Bake in the oven for 35 minutes, a bamboo skewer inserted in should come out cleanly. Transfer from the tin to a wire rack to cool down almost fully.
Slice into thick slices and enjoy!

Give it a go and don’t forget to let me know how you get on!
