4 Viral TikTok Recipes (2025) Put to the Test – Are They Worth Making?

The TikTok food trend train keeps rolling, and if you’ve been here before, you’ll know I like to put these viral recipes to the test and see which ones are actually worth making — and eating.

Here’s the latest batch of TikTok recipes doing the rounds in 2025. I’ve picked four that stood out for being a bit different but still totally doable at home with ingredients you’ll find in most UK supermarkets.

Let’s get into it — scroll down for method, full recipe breakdowns and ingredients for each one.

Tahini Iced Coffee (or Latte)

One of the more surprising trends this year. It sounds odd, but tahini adds a lovely creaminess and nutty edge when blended with milk and poured over iced coffee. I added a decent pinch of cinnamon (twice, actually — it really brought the flavour forward), blended the mix first, and poured it over a glass of coffee and ice. Refreshing and surprisingly addictive.

Method:

  1. Brew strong coffee or a shot of espresso and let it cool slightly.

  2. In a blender, combine tahini, milk, honey or maple syrup, and cinnamon.

  3. Blend until smooth and creamy.

  4. Fill a glass with ice, pour in the coffee, then pour the tahini blend over the top.

  5. Optional extra cinnamon on top — recommended.

Baked Oatmeal Cake

This one’s been doing the rounds for a while but with good reason. It’s somewhere between cake and porridge — baked in the same dish you eat it from, no extra bowls needed. I did mine directly in the dish, and while it didn’t rise much, the texture was dense, spoonable, and really satisfying.

Method:

  1. Preheat oven to 175°C fan.

  2. In your oven dish, mash the banana.

  3. Add in the egg, milk, oats, sweetener, baking powder, cinnamon, and salt. Stir to combine.

  4. Bake for 20–25 minutes until set and slightly golden.

  5. Serve as-is or add toppings like Greek yoghurt, berries, or peanut butter.

Pickle Pizza

This one might divide people, but if you’re a pickle fan, it’s absolutely worth it. I made a quick sauce with crème fraîche, fresh dill, grated garlic, a splash of gherkin juice, and a bit of parmesan. That went onto a pizza base and was topped with mozzarella, red onions, and sliced pickles. I baked it, then added a few fresh pickles at the end for that cold crunch contrast. It works.

Method:

  1. Preheat oven per dough instructions (usually 200°C).

  2. In a bowl, mix crème fraîche, dill, garlic, parmesan, and gherkin brine to make a sauce.

  3. Roll out the pizza dough and spread the sauce over the base.

  4. Top with mozzarella, sliced red onion, and gherkins.

  5. Bake for 12–15 minutes until golden and bubbly.

  6. Optionally, add extra gherkin slices on top after baking.

Hot Honey Popcorn (Sticky & Crunchy Versions)

A really simple twist on popcorn that gives you big flavour without much effort. I melted butter with honey and chilli flakes, poured it over freshly popped popcorn, and gave it a mix. Half of it I ate warm and sticky — lovely. The other half I baked for 15 minutes and finished with melted chocolate and chopped nuts. Bit of a showstopper that one.

Method:

  1. Pop your popcorn (microwave or stovetop).

  2. In a pan, melt honey and butter with a pinch of salt and chilli flakes or hot sauce.

  3. Pour the hot honey mix over the popcorn and stir to coat.

  4. For sticky popcorn: serve straight away.

  5. For crunchy version: bake at 150°C for 10–15 minutes. Cool, then drizzle with chocolate and sprinkle with chopped nuts.
